Hello
.
We are a member-led forum supporting the introduction of a well designed digital Pound in both publicly and privately issued forms, and a diverse, effective and competitive ecosystem for new forms of digital money in the UK and globally.
Our aim is to support the wider understanding of new forms of digital money, whether that’s in the form of central bank digital currencies (CBDC), stablecoins, tokenized deposits, or otherwise. With the help of our members and partners, we regularly publish thought leadership across a variety of formats, from blogs and articles to papers and policy responses. Our podcast series, the Poundcast, has hosted a variety guests from the traditional finance and fintech space, meanwhile our webinars and in-person events not only connect and engage with the wider industry, but showcase the collective knowledge and abilities of our members.
Our working groups aim to explore and clarify the various risks, challenges, and benefits associated with the emergence of new forms of digital money. These groups serve as a platform for members to engage in dialogue, collaborate, and exchange ideas and strategies for fostering a robust and varied digital money ecosystem. Additionally, they offer members the opportunity to demonstrate their expertise and capabilities within their respective fields.
Digital money spans the entire world and we very much believe in a collaborative approach when it comes to the design and implementation of digital money. That is why we provide up-to-date coverage of the latest developments from around the globe, from CBDC discussion papers and pilots to the stablecoin regulation. Be sure to follow us on Twitter and LinkedIn for the latest updates and information. Why not also subscribe to our free newsletter and have a roundup of the news delivered to your inbox once a month.
Whilst most CBDC experiments have involved private sector technology providers, the overwhelming majority of these experiments, to date, have not involved participation from other private sector actors. The Digital Pound Foundation is unique in proposing a model whereby the public and private sectors can fully engage in the design, development and adoption of a digital Pound, thus contributing to its successful roll-out and helping drive forward the UK’s transition to a digital economy.
Collaborate with other members through our various working groups, discussing and building concepts around use cases and payments, innovative approaches to privacy, identity, and sustainability, and addressing legal and regulatory concerns collaboratively. Join our events, both in-person and online, and participate across our panel discussions, roundtables, and webinars. Meanwhile, our audience is large and growing quickly, providing members with additional outlets to share and amplify their latest news and developments.
