Ripple’s Contribution to CBDC Landscape Celebrated at Juniper’s 2023 Awards

Ripple has been bestowed with two significant accolades by Juniper Research in the esteemed Future Digital Awards for Fintech & Payments 2023. Amid an unprecedented number of entrants this year, Ripple emerged as a clear leader in the following categories:

Ripple’s CBDC platform endeavours to provide a safe, sustainable, and smooth end-to-end solution tailored for central banks, governments, and institutions aiming to boost financial inclusion, and to diminish the costs and risks associated with domestic and international payment processes. It further equips these institutions with the tools to effortlessly issue their own CBDC, thereby narrowing the divide for the unbanked demographic and offering them crucial banking services.

Ripple’s footprint in this arena is evident through its successful pilot schemes executed in conjunction with five central banks, including the noteworthy Palau stablecoin initiative. Additionally, the company is currently in talks with over 20 countries regarding their prospective CBDC projects.

About the Foundation

Whilst most CBDC experiments have involved private sector technology providers, the overwhelming majority of these experiments, to date, have not involved participation from other private sector actors. The Digital Pound Foundation is unique in proposing a model whereby the public and private sectors can fully engage in the design, development and adoption of a digital Pound, thus contributing to its successful roll-out and helping drive forward the UK’s transition to a digital economy.
