We are very pleased to announce the addition of Payment Systems Consultancy to the Digital Pound Foundation’s membership community. Its founder, Phil Kenworthy, a former Chief Executive of CHAPS and member of the UK Access to Cash Panel, has already been a valuable contributor to the DPF’s work over the past three years in his capacity of Originating Member and Non-Executive Director of the DPF. This membership means that Phil will continue to actively engage in its Policy, Legal and Regulatory work and other initiatives related to use cases, financial/digital inclusion and the evolving payments landscape.
Phil Kenworthy, Founder, Payments Systems Consultancy, commented: “As one of the founding Originating Members of the Digital Pound Foundation, I am delighted to be able to continue that association via my company’s full membership of the Foundation. There is still much to be done in this space and, following the Foundation’s recent merger with Innovate Finance, the opportunity to achieve this has been enhanced further. ”
Claire Conby, Head of Digital Pound Foundation Programme, Innovate Finance: “With such a focus on the political and regulatory environment for digital assets and digital money it is crucial for DPF to contribute expertise and to help to shape the landscape. Phil’s deep knowledge of past and present payment systems, combined with his insights into the evolution of new forms of digital money and how the existing payments architecture may need to evolve to accommodate this digital innovation, will be invaluable to our advocacy efforts.”
