We are pleased to announce that the Digital Dollar Project has joined the Digital Pound Foundation (DPF) as a strategic partner. The Digital Dollar Project is a neutral, non-profit forum focused on exploring digital innovation in money and preserving the role of the U.S. Dollar in a world of decentralised and centralised sovereign and non-sovereign digital currency networks.

The Digital Dollar Project and the DPF will collaborate on areas of mutual interest and alignment across the two organisations’ policy research and topic-specific working groups, as well as coordinating on joint educational and awareness initiatives such as podcasts, webinars and other events. Plans are also in place for mutual collaboration between the DPF, Digital Euro Association, and Digital Dollar Project for shared activities of a similar nature.

“The Digital Dollar Project firmly believes that the United States and other free societies must play leading roles in shaping the standards and norms of digital currency networks that today include central bank digital currency, stablecoins, and other forms of private currencies,” said Jennifer Lassiter, Executive Director of the Digital Dollar Project. “This partnership exemplifies a shared commitment towards international standard-setting that is consistent with key norms, values, and the rule of law, and champions a digital landscape that respects privacy, embraces democratic principles and encourages interoperability.”

Jannah Patchay, Executive Director and Policy Lead, Digital Pound Foundation added: “We are delighted to welcome the Digital Dollar Project as a strategic partner. Their work has inspired many of the originating members of the Digital Pound Foundation as we built out the organisation in the UK. We look forward to closer international cooperation with our US partners, alongside our European counterparts at the Digital Euro Association. Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), stablecoins and other new forms of digital money are increasingly gaining in prominence on the policy and political agendas of many jurisdictions. We strongly believe that international discussion and collaboration can only strengthen our advocacy for the transition to a digital economy that delivers wider social and economic benefits for all”.

The Digital Dollar Project is a neutral, non-profit forum focused on exploring digital innovation in money and future-proofing the U.S. Dollar in a world of decentralized and centralized, sovereign and non-sovereign digital currency networks. The Digital Dollar Project does not call for the ready deployment of a US CBDC—or digital dollar – but does encourage the U.S. to assert principled leadership in CBDC experimentation at home and digital currency standard setting abroad that is consistent with U.S. norms, values, and the rule of law.
