We are delighted to announce the addition of Agant to the Digital Pound Foundation as Associate Members. Among other planned activities, Agant intends to take an active part in the DPF’s Policy, Legal and Regulatory Working Group.
Agant is building a pound sterling stablecoin (GBPA), domiciled and regulated in the UK. It aims to provide the foundation layer for on-chain financial services in the UK and beyond. GBPA is always fully backed 1:1 with cash and UK gilts, and is integrated with open banking to provide a seamless on and off-ramp for its users.
Andrew MacKenzie, Founder of Agant, said: “Agant is thrilled to join the Digital Pound Foundation. Our mission is to bring trust, transparency, and innovation to the digital currency space through Agant’s privately issued digital pound, GBPA. The DPF’s commitment to fostering a robust ecosystem for digital money aligns perfectly with our vision and product. We are eager to collaborate with the Foundation and its members to advance the understanding and adoption of stablecoins, contributing to the broader dialogue on the future of digital finance in the UK and beyond.”
Helen Disney, PR and Events Lead, Digital Pound Foundation added: “We warmly welcome Agant to the DPF and look forward to seeing the addition of a UK domiciled and regulated product to the stablecoin ecosystem. The DPF’s remit is to explore the impact of a digital pound in both public and private forms and the arrival of new players such as Agant to the market demonstrates the ever-growing interest in digital currencies in the UK”.
