We had a tremendous turnout for last week’s event, “The Great Crypto Debate: A Future Ecosystem of Digital Currencies in the UK”. Following an inspiring keynote delivered by Chris Glennie (CMS), we had an incredibly dynamic and insightful panel discussion moderated by Joy Macknight (The Banker), featuring Caroline Malcolm (Chainalysis), Kene Ezeji-Okoye (Millicent Labs), Teana Baker-Taylor (Circle), and Varun Paul (Fireblocks).

At the DPF, we strongly advocate for and provide support for the introduction of a thoughtfully crafted digital Pound, available in both publicly and privately-issued formats. Our focus expands beyond examining the role and design considerations for CBDCs, delving into envisioning a diverse, efficient, and competitive ecosystem comprising various forms of digital money. This includes stablecoins, tokenised commercial bank money (also known as tokenised deposits), and tokenised emoney.
