We are now witnessing a much closer association between traditional finance, digital assets and digital currencies. As these two worlds converge, will the emergence of Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) and other new forms of digital money accelerate the transition to a fully digital financial system? Will the increasing existence of digital fiat currencies – be they stablecoins or CBDCs – also enhance the cryptocurrency market or will they pose a threat to it? How does all this affect the UK in its goal to be a hub for blockchain and cryptocurrency? And what does it mean for the future of finance?

The Digital Pound Foundation is unique in proposing a model whereby the public and private sectors can fully engage in the design, development and adoption of a digital Pound, thus contributing to its successful roll-out and helping drive forward the UK’s transition to a digital economy.
